Online with Paypal

Our shopping cart and checkout system makes it simple to shop online. Just select your favourite products to add to your cart. You can view your cart at any time while you shop with the ability to change quantities or remove items. When you have finished shopping click ‘Checkout’, where you will enter a your contact details, view our $8.95 postage (up to 3 kg) and delivery information and view an itemised list of your order with Grand Total. When you click ‘Confirm Order’ you will be taken to PayPal to safely process your payment. We use Paypal the world’s must trusted and fully secure online payment processor. When you checkout, you will be taken to a secure page where you can enter all your card details safely. You don’t even need a Paypal account to make payment with us. When you are directed to Paypal, on the left side of the screen you will see ‘Don’t have a PayPal account?’ Simply click on ‘Continue’ and fill in your details.
Upon completion with Paypal payment gateway remember to return to our website.

Direct Deposit

If Paypal isn’t your preferred method of payment, direct deposit is an option for you. Please contact us and we will organise direct deposit payment with you.


Feel confident shopping at The Play Hive. We use Paypal for all online payments as it is the most secure and trusted payment processor in the world today. PayPal do not share any financial information with their merchants therefore we do not receive or store any financial details such as credit card numbers.

When making a payment, Paypal automatically encrypts all sensitive information ensuring it is kept private. A Secure Socket Layer (SSL) with an encryption key length of 168 bits, protects all information during your shopping experience.

Once you have moved through our checkout and confirmed payment, you will receive a confirmation email/receipt detailing your order and delivery address information. Credit card transactions will appear on your bill as ‘PAYPAL- The Play Hive’.

The information that we collect from you when signing up as a member and placing and processing an order (email, phone number and password) is all also protected by our 256-bit encrypted SSL. This information will not be disclosed, sold or shared with anyone.


Our flat rate postage for parcels up to 3kg is $8.95 to Australia in VIC, SA, NSW, QLD and TAS. We use a combination of Australia Post and Fastway Couriers for our deliveries. If you would like to purchase additional postage options such as Express Post, insurance, signature on delivery, etc for an additional cost please contact us.

For parcels that exceed 3kg or are delivered to NT, WA and remote locations, we reserve the right to pass on additional postage charges. We will investigate the best option to keep these charges to a minimum. Of course we will contact you to receive your approval on additional delivery costs prior to dispatch. If you are unhappy with the additional postage charges we will provide a full refund.

If your order exceed $150 you qualify for free shipping Australia wide!

International delivery can be organised to most countries. Please contact us with your order and we will arrange a postage quote for you.

Delivery Times

Your parcel will be dispatched within 2 business days of receiving payment confirmation. (Please keep in mind that direct deposit payments can take up to 3 days for payment confirmation to come through). If your order is urgent, please contact us and we will do an Express Post quote for you.

These delivery times are for working days and are approximations only. They are to be used as a guide. We cannot guarantee delivery times. These approximations are from Melbourne to capital cities. The more remote your location, the longer it will take.

Christmas Delivery

Please note that delivery times during the Christmas period could take a little longer than stated here. This is due to larger volumes of post being sent leading up to and during the Christmas period. The amount of days on top of what is denoted here varies depending on your location. Please allow for an additional few days of delivery time in your planning for delivery before Christmas. Thank you.


We endeavour to ensure that all of our products are in stock. However there may be times when stock runs out due to a delay with delivery from toy manufacturers to our suppliers. Unfortunately this is an issue that is out of our control. We display our toys as out of stock if this occurs. On rare occasions an error in our system may result in an out of stock item being listed as in stock. If a product you ordered is out of stock or we anticipate a problem with prompt delivery we will contact you immediately and you may choose from the following options:

  • Place the out of stock product on back order. When we receive it we will deliver it to you.
  • Substitute the out-of stock product for one that is in stock.
  • Cancel the out of stock item from your order. A refund of the items purchase price will be issued to you.

Please contact us if one of our out of stock items is of interest to you. We may be able to give you an indication of when we expect it to be back in stock.

Pick Up

If you live near the Altona area and you would like to arrange pick up of your order, please contact us before you make your order to obtain a code to remove the postage fee from your order through checkout. During this contact we can also arrange a date and time for you to pick up your order.


Here at The Play Hive we try our hardest to be environmentally friendly and reduce waste. Where possible we reuse boxes and packing materials that we’ve received deliveries in. We also source second hand boxes. We make sure that every product is packed safely and securely for transit.


Change of Mind

At The Play Hive we believe that you will love our quality children’s products. If for any reason you aren’t happy, please contact us immediately. We can offer a refund of the purchase price providing that:

  • The item is returned within 7 days of receipt
  • The product is returned in original/undamaged condition, unopened, unused, tags still attached and with no damage to the packaging
  • You pay the return postage cost. The Play Hive strongly suggests registering or insuring your returns as losses or damages can occur in transit.
  • Unfortunately, we cannot accept any responsibility for returned items that are damaged or lost.
  • The item is NOT a sale item
  • If you wish to return a product, please contact us first.

Faulty or Damaged Goods (Excludes Postal Damage)

Before we dispatch our products we thoroughly check each item for any damage or faults. If your product is faulty, damaged (postal damage excluded) or not what you ordered, please contact us immediately. We can offer you a refund, replacement or exchange if the product is sent back to us within 10 days of receipt.

Faulty or damaged products must be returned to us with all of the contents you received with it, such as parts and components, packaging, tags, labels, manuals, instructions, etc. Only then can a refund, replacement or exchange be issued to you. We will look after postage costs to send the product back to you.

If the product is not what you ordered please contact us so we can resolve the situation. Please note that for the situation to be resolved, the product needs to be in its original condition- undamaged, unopened, unused, tags still attached, contain all parts and components and with no damage to the packaging.

If you need to send products back to The Play Hive we strongly suggest registering or insuring the returns as losses and damages can occur in transit. Unfortunately, we cannot accept any responsibility for returned items that are lost or damaged in transit.

Refunds will only be issued to the Paypal/credit card account holder that was originally charged.

We do not issue refunds or replacements where typing errors have occurred while entering your address or personal information into Paypal and as a result your package has been sent to the wrong address or lost.

Damages During Delivery

As mentioned, before we dispatch our products we thoroughly check each item for any damage or faults. The Play Hive do not take responsibility for products that are lost or damaged during postal transit where insurance is not purchased (see above in Delivery and Pick Up section for details).

If you purchased insurance and you believe a product is lost or damaged during transit, please contact us immediately.

If you did not purchase insurance, please contact us and we can help you with the best way forward.
