The set consists of 10 colourful wooden boards displaying numbers 0 to 9, as well as 10 strings to lace through the holes of each number.

Extend Play and Learning

These number boards provide more learning opportunities than meets the eye. Here are some ideas to teach counting, number recognition, 1 to 1 correspondence and writing numbers:

Use these numbers with small objects such as sultanas or Cheerios. Lay the numbers on the table and ask your child to place the corresponding amount of food objects below each number. When finished your child will enjoy a healthy snack.

Use the boards as flash cards to see which numbers your child can recognise.

Play an action game. Lay the cards out on the floor. Before picking up a card select an action, for example jumping. Then pick up a number board and complete the corresponding amount of jumps. Continue with a different action for each card.

Set your child up with a pencil and and paper and get your child to copy the numbers. If copying numbers is too difficult for your little one, here is an idea...Use the numbers as a stencil. Lay a number board down on paper and place a dot in each hole. This will make a dot formation on the paper for your child to follow with a pencil.
